PIANO & KEYBOARD

Yamaha Music School offers structured piano and keyboard programs designed for all ages, starting as young as five (with Junior Play for Keeps), progressing through Play for Keeps (age 8 +) and dedicated Pianoforte piano course for older students and adults. Each course is based on Yamaha’s internationally-recognised curriculum developed over 70+ years, blending technique, theory, creative expression, and performance skills. Lessons may be individual (30–60 min) or in small groups, with opportunities for ensemble playing, concert performance, and Yamaha Grade exam qualification.

JUNIOR PLAY FOR KEEPS

This exciting course teaches children from age 5 to 7.  Students participate in playing piano, keyboard, listening, singing and reading activities with the aim of advancing to an intermediate level of musical proficiency.

With a focus on enjoyment and creativity, Junior play for keeps helps young students build a strong musical foundation. This foundation can then be taken onto our ‘Piano Forte’ or the ‘Play For Keeps’ course.

PIANO FORTE

Under the guidance of an experienced teacher, students take their first steps on the piano then continuously expand their skills through practice exercises and a diverse repertoire of pieces. The course is open to piano students age 8 upwards. Our Piano Forte course provides a supportive environment for pianists to build fundamental techniques while also exploring creativity.

PLAY FOR KEEPS

Designed for students age 8 and upwards, this course teaches you to become a competent, well-rounded keyboard player.  With a focus on developing strong technique, reading ability, music theory and listening skills, students will gain the tools to become confident performing in a variety of musical styles.
