Joel Henderson-Bell
Joel started playing music in middle school, through Yamaha Music School Whitley Bay. During high school, he helped form The Sheds, and played with them over a 5 year period. He also plays percussion with Easington Colliery Band, and was a member of several award-winning performances between 2021 and 2024, as well as performing with several local Orchestras, such as Northumberland Orchestral Society and The New Tyneside Orchestra.
Joel earned Grade 8 Distinctions in Drumkit, Snare Drum, and Tuned Percussion while learning through Yamaha. He is currently studying at Newcastle University as a Masters Student in History, after graduating with a 2:1 in History and English Literature.
Joel began teaching in 2023 with Yamaha Music School North East, and also works with the Rock Project Newcastle as a music teacher.
Joel teaches Piano, Drums and Band Project at both our Blyth and North Shields schools.
