Lucy Marsh

Lucy is a multi-instrumentalist, teacher and performer from Whitley Bay. She started playing music from the age of 8 and went onto complete ABRSM exams in violin, flute, recorder and music theory. She has explored different genres, playing in symphony orchestras, jazz bands, pit bands for musicals and discovered a passion for folk music. She studied folk and traditional music at Newcastle University and is an alumnus of The National Youth Folk Ensemble.

Lucy is an experienced gigging musician and performs and records with a plethora of different bands. She plays with local contemporary artists such as Josh Webb, Ben Harwood and Luke Porter. Lucy is also a founder member of folk fusion trio, The Hop. She has performed in across the country as well as in local venues such as, Newcastle City Hall, The Cluny, The Grove and various folk festivals.

Lucy teaches Flute and Violin at our North Shields school.
