Niles Krieger

Niles Krieger

Niles Krieger is a cross-genre multi-instrumentalist whose influences spread as far as the distances music has taken him.

Born and raised in the USA, Niles has now spent 15 years in the North East of England developing a unique approach to the fiddle, mandolin and guitar that is based in American roots music but hybridises influences from both sides of the Atlantic. He has lent this style to many live and studio projects as an in-demand session musician, including Sam Fender’s Mercury-winning ‘People Watching’ album.

As a full-time member of award-winning bluegrass band, The Often Herd, Niles has toured the length and breadth of the UK and has appeared at several prestigious bluegrass festivals throughout Northern Europe and the USA. He also plays regularly with alternative singer/songwriter Liam Fender, and other credits include work with Martin Stephenson, Lindisfarne, Ashley Campbell, Yola and many others. Niles also has extensive teaching experience and holds a BMus and MMus from Newcastle University

Niles teaches Electric Guitar and Violin at our North Shields school.
