
Thomas Cross
Thomas is primarily a percussionist and drummer based in the North East.
Thomas started learning music aged 7 starting with percussion and trumpet. He has been involved with many ensembles over the years while growing up, playing at school and with Hertfordshire and Suffolk County Music, Junior Guildhall School of Music Drama, National Youth Concert Band and National Youth Percussion Orchestra.
He went on to study music at Newcastle University, majoring in performance on percussion, studying under Yamaha Artist Steven Moore.
Since graduating, Thomas has remained in the North East teaching at Yamaha Music School and continues to get involved in the local music scene.
Thomas plays in a plethora of different settings and loves the variety of performing solo, in a band, with an orchestra, pit band and brass band. He has played with numerous orchestras such as Northumberland Orchestral Society and New Tyneside Orchestra, as well as Easington Colliery Brass Band. This collective experience has taken him all around the UK playing in venues such as the Royal Albert Hall, Snape Maltings, Milton Court and Bradshaw Hall.
Thomas teaches Keyboard, Percussion, Drums, Brass, Class Band and Band Project. at both our Blyth and North Shields schools.
