Jack Littlewood

Jack is a drummer and percussionist originally from Harrogate, now based in Newcastle. He has been playing drums since the age of 5, and achieved Grade 8 drums at 13. He has recently graduated with a 1st in Music from Newcastle University. 

He has extensive experience across all genres of music, from pit bands to orchestras, punk bands to big bands. He achieved a lot at a young age in brass banding, becoming the principal percussionist in the National Youth Brass Band of Great Britain, and being named in the 4barsrest Global Band of the Year at 18. 

In recent years, Jack has had the opportunity to perform in many of the UK’s most prestigious venues, such as the Royal Albert Hall in London, First Direct Arena in Leeds, Usher Hall in Edinburgh, and The Glasshouse in Gateshead. 

Over the course of the last three years spent in Newcastle, Jack has had extensive performance experience, largely based in jazz, but now plays across a plethora of genres and ensembles. This includes leading his own jazz trio, Look Left, as well as playing with alt-rock band Pørters, neo-soul singer Georgia May, jazz guitarist Jacob Egglestone, and being a member of street drumming group Spark! 

Jack teaches Drums at our North Shields school.
