Lizbeth Horrell
Lizbeth started learning the piano at age 6, and picked up the violin soon after, with the “Foundation Strings” program at the Glasshouse. Then she joined the Chilli Road Band on the steel pans, which performs extensively around the region, and she performed at the Edinburgh Fringe with the Northern Steel Orchestra.
Now she has a diploma in piano and a masters in mathematics. She plays violin in both the Blyth Symphony Orchestra, and the Whickham and Swalwell Community Orchestra, which holds the yearly William Shield festival, celebrating a local Gateshead composer who wrote numerous short operas.
She began her gender transition in 2026.
Lizbeth teaches Piano and Violin at both our Blyth and North Shields schools.
