
Penny Randall-Davis
Penny is a singing teacher with thirty years’ experience , working with a diverse range of students : classical singers, those specializing in Musical Theatre or Pop, people with health issues, or those who simply want to discover and enjoy their voices. She is passionate about helping people to find the centre of their voice, and in doing so connect with their most authentic and fun self-expression – whatever their age, and in whichever genre suits them best.
During her career as a professional operatic soloist she performed in the UK with English National Opera , Welsh National Opera , Scottish Opera, Opera North, Opera Holland Park, Glyndebourne Touring Opera, and internationally with Teatro all’Opera di Roma, La Fenice, La Monnaie, New Zealand Opera, Opera Atelier in Toronto, West Norwegian Opera, and in concert at Sydney Opera House with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra.
She has appeared in live television broadcasts from the Piazza del Popolo in Rome, and live on the BBC , Canadian and Australian radio.
As well as her private teaching practices in London and the north-east, Penny is vocal tutor with the CAT academy at The Glasshouse, and has led workshops, trainings and masterclasses for a diverse array of organisations . Alongside her work training professional classical singers both privately and as vocal tutor with Barefoot Opera, Penny is also as Reiki master with a private Reiki practice , and an accredited holistic voicework coach. She has devised and delivered many and varied workshops: a course for people with ME, sessions for people recovering from cancer (James Cook Hospital) , holistic voice and breathwork with hospice nurses , combining sound with Reiki for Reiki practitioners, and offering training in presentation skills for Kingston University.
Penny teaches Vocals at our Blyth school during the daytime on Wednesdays.
